"We booked this hotel under the pretense that the resturant was open for business and the taxi price rate was similar to the rest of Ecuador or the reviews in our travel book. Hotel served a nice breakfast BUT no other food is available so one must go into Puerto Ayora for lunch and dinner. The taxi rate to and from hotel into town can be anywhere from $10-$15 each way..... if u want to freshen up after a long tour that will be 4 taxi rides......$40-$60 per day. Lawrence offered us a ride...

"A cute hostel/hotel just two short blocks from the main road that runs along the harbor. Hot water and a/c worked well, and there was drinking water available for tea/coffee/water bottles. I did not take advantage of tour opportunites, but they were readily available at the front desk, as were bike and kayak rentals. Thanks for a great stay!"

"The Tortuga bay suite is right by the street so you hear the street noise until about 10:30pm on workdays and about 11:30pm on a Friday. The air conditioner doesn’t work well. It makes a noise at night and is quite disturbing. With the many mosquitoes, we could not open the windows and it was quite a terrible experience to sleep at night. The soap and shampoo/body wash are diluted. The fridge is incredibly noisy and you cannot sleep with it being on. The plates are dirty and require extra...
